Links

The Links page lists link status and queue information for all domains, post offices, and gateways that the MTA transfers messages to.

Link List

Direct Link

Lists the destinations that the MTA is linked to.

Closed links, if any, appear at the top of the list, ordered by the number of queued messages. Next, the domain serviced by the MTA is listed, along with post offices and gateways belonging to this domain. Finally, other domain links are listed.

Click a destination to display information about that destination and its message queues.

Type

Indicates whether each destination is a domain, post office, or gateway.

Status

Open: The MTA can transfer messages to the destination.

Closed: The MTA cannot transfer messages to the destination. Click that destination to determine the last closure reason. For troubleshooting assistance, You can look up last closure reasons in Troubleshooting 1: Error Messages.

Suspended: The MTA is not currently processing messages for the destination because it has been suspended. Select the suspended destination, then click Resume so that the MTA starts processing messages for the selected destination.

Open Pending: The destination is in the process of opening and the MTA is clearing its holding queue for the destination. When this is accomplished, the MTA begins processing current messages and the status changes to Open.

Messages Queued

Displays the number of messages that are currently waiting for processing in the holding queue of MTA's local working directory (mslocal\mshold) for each destination. Typically, no messages are waiting unless a destination is closed or is backlogged because of unusually heavy message traffic or a slow WAN link.

Oldest

Displays the number of hours, minutes, and seconds the oldest message has been waiting for transfer to its destination.

Suspend

Select one or more destinations, then click Suspend so that the MTA stops processing messages that need to be transferred to the selected destinations. For example, you could suspend message processing for a post office while backing up the post office directory.

All message transfer to the selected destinations will remain suspended until you resume processing.
