TCP/IP Connections

The TCP/IP Connections page lists TCP/IP information and threads for all domains, post offices, and gateways that the MTA communicates with by way of TCP/IP links.

Outgoing

The Outgoing section lists the sender threads that the MTA is currently running. The thread names start with the name of each destination. They include an "S" for "sender," followed by a number, because as many as four sender threads can be running for one destination depending on the level of message traffic to that destination. If a sender thread is active, the DNS host name of the destination appears in parentheses following the sender thread name. Inactive sender threads eventually time out.

Incoming

The Incoming section lists the receiver threads that the MTA is currently running. The thread names include "R" for "receiver," followed by a number that increments for each receiver thread that the MTA needs to start in order to handle incoming messages.

The default maximum number of receiver threads is 40. You can change the maximum number using the /tcpinbound startup switch in the MTA startup file.

SSL

Indicates whether or not each location supports an SSL connection with the MTA.

You can configure the MTA to support SSL connections in ConsoleOne® (MTA object > GroupWise tab > Network Address page and SSL Settings page).

IP Address

Lists the IP address that corresponds to each DNS host name listed in the first column.

Port

Lists the port number associated with each IP address.
