GroupWise uses QuickFinder technology to index messages and documents stored in post offices.
The QuickFinder Indexing page lets you control indexing for the current POA session. Select options as needed, then click Submit to put them into effect.
Standard indexing functionality is established in ConsoleOne® (POA object > GroupWise tab > QuickFinder page).
Select Enabled or Disabled, then click Submit to turn indexing on or off.
By default, the POA indexes new messages and documents in the post office every 24 hours at 8:00 p.m. and then compresses the indexes at midnight to conserve disk space.
Select an indexing action (update, compress, or delete and regenerate), then click Submit so that the POA performs the indexing action immediately, rather than waiting for the next scheduled indexing cycle.
NOTE: To facilitate the Find feature in the GroupWise® client, the POA searches unindexed messages as well as those that have already been indexed, so that all messages are immediately available to users whenever they perform a search. The POA does not search unindexed documents, so documents cannot be located using the client Find feature until after indexing has been performed.
