The POA admin thread updates the post office database (wphost.db) when users and/or user information are added, modified, or removed. The POA admin thread also repairs it when damage is detected.
The Admin Task Processing page lets you control the POA admin thread for the current POA session as if you are at the POA agent console on the server where the POA is running. Change the settings as needed, then click Submit to put them into effect .
The Admin Messages section provides statistics showing the workload of the POA admin thread.
Completed
Number of administrative messages successfully processed.
Errors
Number of administrative messages not processed because of errors.
In Queue
Number of administrative messages waiting in the queue to be processed.
Send Admin Mail
Select this option to send administrative error mail to the GroupWise administrator. Deselect this option to stop sending administrative error mail.
You can select a GroupWise user to act as a GroupWise® administrator in ConsoleOne® (Domain object > GroupWise tab > Identification page). The administrator receives administrative messages generated by the GroupWise agents whenever problems arise.
The Admin Database section provides information about the status of the post office database (wphost.db) serviced by the POA admin thread.
Status
Normal: The POA admin thread is able to access the post office database normally.
Recovering: The POA admin thread is repairing the post office database after encountering a database error.
DB Error: The POA admin thread has detected a critical database error. The post office database cannot be repaired by the POA. Rebuild the post office database in ConsoleOne (Tools > GroupWise Utilities > System Maintenance > Rebuild Database).
Unknown: The POA admin thread cannot determine the status of the post office database. Exit the POA, then restart it, checking for errors on startup.
DB Sort Language
Displays the language code for the language that determines the sort order of lists displayed in ConsoleOne.
The sort language is established in ConsoleOne (Post Office object > GroupWise tab > Identification page).
Recovery Count
Displays the number of times the POA has recovered the post office database during the current POA session.
Automatic Recovery
Select Automatic Recovery to perform database repairs whenever post office database errors are detected.
The standard recovery functionality for the POA is established in ConsoleOne (POA object > GroupWise tab > Maintenance page).
Perform DB Recovery
Select Perform DB Recovery, then click Submit to manually repair the post office database now.
The Admin Thread section displays the status of the POA admin thread.
Status
Running: The POA admin thread is active.
Suspended: The POA admin thread is not currently processing administrative messages.
Starting: The POA admin thread is initializing.
Terminated: The POA admin thread is not running.
Suspend
When the POA admin thread is running, select Suspend, then click Submit to stop the processing of administrative messages.
Resume
When the POA admin thread is suspended, select Resume, then click Submit to restart the processing of administrative messages.
